Posting Letters at a Mailbox

As part of our engaging Community Helpers theme, the kindergarten children had the wonderful opportunity to deepen their understanding of the role of a postman in our society.

To bring this theme to life, the children embarked on a creative project where they designed and crafted beautiful Mother's Day cards. This activity not only allowed them to express their affection and appreciation for their mothers but also served as a practical application of their learning about how mail is sent and received. To culminate this enriching experience, the children took a delightful short trip to the nearby Singapore Post mailbox. This excursion provided them with a firsthand experience of the mailing process, allowing them to observe the mailbox's design and understand its purpose in the community. As they approached the mailbox, the children eagerly took turns dropping their envelopes inside. This hands-on activity not only reinforced their understanding of the postal system but also strengthened their appreciation for the important work that postmen do every day, delivering messages and connecting people across distances. The joy on their faces as they posted their cards was a testament to the meaningful learning experience they had, blending creativity, community awareness, and the celebration of family.
