Little Oaks has partnered with The Premier Pitch at Turf city to conduct a weekly soccer programme. Soccer sessions are conducted by Coach Zahid who is a former Singapore National footballer. Coach Zahid has more than 20 years of experience coaching children and youth in Singapore. His soccer programme is well structured and organised, focused on technique and building age-appropriate skills for the game. He is a well-respected and dedicated coach who brings out the best in our talented youth team.
Friday 12.15pm to 1.15pm
Our children attend tennis lessons at MY Tennis Academy at Turf City. Tennis lessons are conducted in an indoor airconditioned court especially designed for children. MY Tennis academy is headed by Coach Yu who has more than 25 years of coaching experience under his belt. He has trained many youth players over the years and enjoys working with children. His programme uses a holistic approach to develop technique, coordination and motor skills. Sessions are conducted by his team of qualified and patient coaches who make each session fun so that our children learn to enjoy the game and develop a passion for the sport.
The Drama Playhouse
Monday or Friday 12.30pm to 1.30pm
The Drama Playhouse is a popular speech and drama programme at Little Oaks facilitated by its founder Daniel Jenkins. Dan has been teaching and acting for more than twenty years and has won many prestigious awards as an actor. He has directed many successful theatre productions for children in Singapore and is well respected in the acting and drama industry. The Drama Playhouse provides quality drama education through the use of poetry, storytelling and literature enabling each child to develop emotionally, socially and creatively. Through language development, imaginative play and confidence building it’s carefully structured and stimulating programmes provide our little ones with a captivating educational experience each week. Our children always look forward to more!
Wednesday 1.45pm to 2.45pm
We offer children an opportunity to learn mental arithmetic through our abacus class. Abacus is offered as a small group weekly programme conducted on Wednesdays from 1.45pm to 2.45pm by an external instructor Mdm Lee. Madam Lee is from Taiwan and is an experienced and qualified professional abacus instructor. She has taught abacus in many preschools throughout Singapore and is passionate about numbers. Her programme develops a child’s confidence in mathematics and helps boost computation skills in a fun and interactive way that compliments our Montessori approach.
Tuesday 1pm to 2pm
French is conducted by Ms Gersende who is a native French speaker. She has taught art and French as a private tutor and as a school teacher. Her French classes engage learners through songs, stories and art. Each term the children will explore a theme and make props and creative pieces to be used for their end of term performance. Children also develop an appreciation for the French culture through celebrating festivals, cooking and tasting French food. Lessons are always messy fun!
